As hot as the Sahara and standing every bit as tall as the Pyramids, Aly & Fila are the single most successful group to have emerged from the spiritual lands of Egypt and they are now, without question, one of the world’s biggest A list electronic headliner acts.

From the Med to the Red and from up high in Cairo to down deep in the Sinai they built an immense, ultra-loyal local following from which turntable shamans Aly Amr Fathalah and Fadi Wassef Naguib then went global with their huge career-launching Egyptrance releases – including their debut singles ‘Eye of Horus’ and ‘Spirit of Ka’.

Since then they’ve continued to release an endless series of global hits right up to the recent master-blasters like ‘We Control The Sunlight’, Perfect Love’, ‘Running Out of Time’, and ‘Mysteries Unfold’.

For close to a decade their spirited take on the trance sound has captured the hearts, minds and imaginations of the planet’s electronic community.  With their whip-smart productions and sandstorm sonics, their live performances have raised the bar at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals and clubs including EDC, Tomorrowland, Global Gathering, Dance Valley, Stereosonic and WMC to name just a few.

ASOT 650 was the 8th successive year Aly & Fila have appeared at Armin van Buuren’s huge annual A State of Trance events, meaning the Egyptian duo are now the only spinners aside from Armin Van Buuren and Markus Schulz to have played such a run – a testament to the demand from trance fans worldwide.

Add to this seven consecutive years in DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs poll (reaching #20 in 2013) and a #1 notch on this year’s Trance Podiums Top 50 DJs, #1 DJ in the Middle Eastern Music Awards and a nomination for Best Trance DJ at this year’s Ibiza DJ Awards – it’s evident just how much love for the group there is out there.

Broadcasting to many millions of music lovers every week is Aly & Fila’s popular Future Sound of Egypt radio show – a highly respected, must listen for fans of cutting edge uplifting trance.

2014 saw the duo celebrating 350 Episodes of their FSOE show with a massive series of sold out arena shows in Egypt, El Salvador, Colombia, USA, Poland, Argentina and England. Over Forty Two Thousand Clubbers attended these huge shows – each one simultaneously broadcasting live to legions of fans tuning in all over the world.

The Future Sound of Egypt marque is further amplified by Aly & Fila’s widely respected record label of the same name, which is part of the Armada family. With ‘We Control the Sunlight’, the pair scored the biggest trance track of the year when the listeners of Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance radio show voted it “Tune of 2011”. Throughout 2012 they continued to bring some of the year’s best music to club & festival sound-systems, including collaborations with Roger Shah (‘Perfect Love’), Solarstone (‘Fireisland’) and ‘We Control’ singer Jawden (‘Coming Home’), for a track that DJ Mag cited as “making hairs stand up, goosebumps pop, hands shoot up and jaws meet floors!” They also reworked Gareth Emery’s ‘Concrete Angel’ (which subsequently became the best-selling trance track of 2012), as well as other smash tracks from Andy Moor and Alex M.O.R.P.H.

The next year saw the duo follow up their Rising Sun Album by releasing their second artist album ‘Quiet Storm’ with monster hits including ‘Mysteries Unfold’ and ‘Running Out of Time’ .

2014 has also been an incredibly successful year for Aly & Fila.  The summer saw the release of their third artist album ‘The Other Shore’ with three singles including ‘For All Time feat Jaren’, ‘Eye 2 Eye’ with Roger Shah & Sylvia Tosun and ‘Running’ with Sky Patrol and Sue McLaren’.  Also released in 2014 was the Remixes Album of their previous ‘Quiet Storm’ artist album and their massive ‘Trance Nation’ mix compilation for Ministry of Sound.

To say that plans for 2015 are bigger, brighter and more epic than anything to date would be an understatement. You’ll just need to keep listening to the message from Egypt to see what the future holds.
