EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
1) Congrats for this new and amazing album! tell us about “The Demon Diaries“
Well, in fact it’s a journey … and it reflects my past two years.
2) “The Demon Diaries” is a double album. Parov Stelar is a prolific project! when did the production process start?
I never stop producing music. I don´t know why, but it´s like an addiction. After finishing “The Princess” I took 2 months off and then started producing “Demon Diaries”.
3) Lots of people say that you are kind of the ElectroSwing father, how do you feel about it?
I feel honored of course, but it´s also a bit dangerous to be associated with a typical sound. On the one hand it´s a door opener … on the other it can be a golden cage ;-)
4) Are you planning a tour?
To be honest, I’ve been constantly touring for the past 10 years. The live business is very important for Parov Stelar.
5) What do you think about the dance scene in Europe coompared to the USA one?
I don´t know any specific differences, but I think the superstar DJ’s are payed much better than in Europe ;-)
6) Have you ever played in Latinamerica?
Well, what we did was a 2 weeks tour through Mexico in 2006.
7) We have Parov Stelar Band, Parov Stelar’s Trio, Parov + Max The Sax Live, so… which is your favorite format?
It´s definitely the full band, cause I love all these instruments on stage. The show is a mixture of watching and listening … 90 minutes full of energy!
8) From your first demo till now, are there any changes in the way you see your music?
Not really. Music is my passion. Of course, the music business went through a massive change, but not music itself.
9) Is there any place where you’d want to have a show and haven’t played at yet?
We should play a live session at the Grammy’s next year ;-))))
10) BeatLounge Radio listeners love your music, any message for them?
I have to say thank you to all our old and new fans. I would be nothing without you!!!
